a friend of mine had about $17,000 worth of tools and scanners stolen from his shop last night so if anyone hears about a snap on scanner, genisys, lincoln/mig welder, oxy acetalyne torch, or anything else being sold that is out of the ordinary, let me know so maybe we can get him his living back...
sometimes I just don't know about this world...

Dude, that toally blows...
In the mean time, if anyone wants to pick up any tools cheap I hear Brian's got a oxy acetalyne torch, lincoln/mig welder, genisys and snap on scanner for sale. He told me he'd let it all go for under 17k.
Seriously though if I hear anything I'll let ya know. |

damn thats pretty low for someone to do....
when i had 6k in tools i didnt really think much about getting some sort of insurance for them, but all the guys with 10k+ in tools i dont see why you wouldnt think about it because this kind of thing happens more than you would like to believe
hope you catch the guy that did it |

My homeowners/property insurance covers the tools. It's really reasonable if you check into it. I even have my computers specifically covered. I think it's like $3-4 a month for $5000-1000 worth of computer equipment coverage. The tools fall into the same category. You just have to have documentation on what tools you actually have, so you can get them replaced in the event of a loss.
Most insurance companies now have a fomula for *average* value of what peopel have in their garage. |
